Maple Creative Care Plan Newsletter
May 2026
May ’26: Your care plan just got an upgrade (and a new home base)
Hi Reader,
Welcome officially to the Care Plan Newsletter! Every month, I’ll be mailing
you a brief letter from the support desk at Maple Creative. You can expect to
read (or skim!) about care plan updates, featured resources, events, community
notes, news and more.
Here are updates of what happened in May.
↓
Service updates (& upgrades)
First up, plugins! Managed plugin updates are now included in every care plan tier. Starting this month, all care plans (Essential and above) include Pressable’s managed plugin update service. Note: This is not the same as the basic auto-update toggle inside WordPress. Managed updates run on a schedule, test changes on a staging copy of your site first, and automatically roll back if something breaks. You do not need to do anything to activate this. We are handling it.
If your site has specific needs (complex plugins, online course platforms, high-traffic e-commerce), we will reach out individually to confirm the best approach for your setup.
Live workshops and the tutorial library are now available to all care plan tiers. Whether you are on an Essential plan or a Standard plan, you now have access to our live workshop series and the full tutorial recording library.
Live workshops
Weekly workshops Thursdays at noon Eastern. Come one and all, bring a friend! Register here.
Tutorial library
Trust me, there are gems in here. I’ll point out a resource, guidebook or tutorial every month and see if I can navigate you to some goodies. Next month, I’ll show you my favorite database view and the “cutting edge” tutorials that are freshly updated (and updating). Reach out to me for any questions on the resources, or if you want some help navigating the Notion experience.
Office hours
Office hours for 1:1 website coaching and development remain available for Standard tier and above. Office hours are an easy way to make the most of your care plan service. Definitely take Ryan up on the drop-in opportunity if you can for access to tips, over-the-shoulder guidance in real time, and meeting your website needs.
Featured resource from the Client Hub
The Maple Client Resource Hub is live. We have been working on a central place for all of your care plan resources, and it is ready. Inside the hub you will find:
- Welcome guides for each service
- Workshop recordings with timestamps and key takeaways
- Tutorials on WordPress essentials (and endless rabbit holes if you’re a geek like me!)
- Quick links to office hours, billing, and support
You can visit the hub anytime at community.buildwithmaple.com. Or you can access the hub via your online portal on Maple’s website. Simply enter your account email at the portal for the magic link to log in.
This month’s spotlight is…. the Anatomy of a Website Guide! Honestly, just this behemoth of information alone is worth its weight in gold and scroll time. If you have ever wondered at all what the pieces are that make up your website, you’ll find so much clarity and insight here. Lots of careful attention to detail worth considering before digging in to edit your website or planning what comes next. It is a great starting point whether you are new to your care plan or have been with us for ages.

Workshop recap + upcoming events
Website Strategy Workshop replay is up
On May 8, Ryan hosted a live workshop on website strategy: what it means in 2026, why strategy comes before tools, how to (actually) align your website with goals, and more. If you missed it, the full replay is available now in the hub.
Watch the Website Strategy Workshop replay
Here is the blog post link of the workshop, if you’d rather read than watch.
Website Strategy on the Maple Creative blog
Get to know Maple’s framework for what sets a connection-based website apart (even amidst the state of AI), plus the four pillars that we workshop in our webinars and designs:
Website Strategy Amidst Rapid Change: Why Strategy Comes Before Tools
This guide is truly helpful in shaping the strategy and thinking behind your website before your fingers ever click a mouse. Remember: A framework provides guidance, and DIY doesn’t mean doing it alone…
Upcoming events
Office hours + events are back on the calendar. You can browse upcoming sessions and register at
lu.ma/maple.
Please note that the workshop schedule may shift and change, depending on the human needs behind the agency. Thank you for your understanding and flexibility. We’ll be in contact with you if we need to cancel or reschedule a workshop.
Maintenance / WordPress vigilance
A closer look at plugin updates is coming.
Now that managed plugin updates are part of every care plan, we are putting together a detailed email or blog (and
possibly a short video) explaining exactly how it works, what it covers, and what to expect. That email will also
include a short form so we can gather any site-specific details we need from you. Watch for it in the coming weeks.
Outside of that, it has been a quiet month on the security and maintenance front. No major WordPress vulnerabilities or
urgent patches to report.
Community notes
Next month’s newsletter theme: Pride
I’m guessing that if you’re on this email list, you are in a category of folks I’d call, “ever aspiring ally,” if not actually one of the LGBTQ+ community. If you are queer, trans, or identifying thusly, we’d love to hear from you! Please reach out or nominate Maple clients to be featured in the upcoming Care Plan newsletter (we are about Care, after all). Let us know about events or promotions you’d like to highlight or spotlight or otherwise illumine for the client community about your business, organization, or project.
Message us at support@buildwithmaple.com, or email me at shayna@buildwithmaple.com.
Finally, if you have not joined a live workshop or office hours session yet, consider this your invitation. They are relaxed, practical, and a good way to get your questions answered in real time (alongside great people). Come for your questions, stay for community.
Hope to see you there soon.
Until next time,
Shayna
