Last year she hired me to design and setup Heartstone Online, a platform to manage all of her courses, students, and revenue. This is actually how I met Juan Lube, who is now the developer for Maple when we run into challenging projects or want to brainstorm a strategy.
We started with a website redesign… but since then Ryan's implemented systems for our email newsletter and online courses, growing our audience to over 4,000 subscribers, and hundreds of students are now enrolled in our online courses. Halt the Harm Network is creating services to support people in their fight against oil and gas. I started working with them as a podcast producer and then was hired to restructure and migrate their website over to the Maple platform.

Medusa Tattoo has a reputation of being the most approachable tattoo shop in Ithaca. It's a small shop with three artists who do custom illustration and really work with their clients to get the tattoo they want.
When we started the website and brand development project, I stopped by their shop to take some candid photos – and it added a really special element to their final website look and feel.
If we've ever worked together in person, you know I have a number of botanical tattoos, all done by Carol Oddy at Medusa Tattoo. I learned how important communication and process is when working on a creative project, and I'm grateful that they can prove that generosity, kindness, and acceptance can be the foundation of a thriving business.

Eve's Cidery is a truly farm-based business. The owners, Autumn and Ezra, are involved in all the day-to-day operations, from planting and pruning to pressing and bottling cider. After I created their new website redesign, they wanted monthly support so they could start building an online business and become less reliant on distributors.
I know that a well-designed and well-managed website can help a business become more sustainable, so the Maple Care Plan was developed with small businesses like Eve's Cidery in mind. I set up regular reports for Autumn and Ezra to stay informed on every change, as well as important stats about their traffic and sales.
Both Autumn and Ezra can easily edit the content on their site, but if they're in a hurry, they can benefit from the unlimited edits and maintenance included in their care plan. For less than $200 a month, they can consult with me and ask for help on different tasks, whether it's a new product for the store or a video telling their story to connect with their customers.

Maple Clients Are Fundraising!
WRFI is a community radio station with over 50 volunteers and countless moving parts to keep things on the air. The website is for broadcasting, program pages, a full 24/7 program schedule, and for the volunteer newsteam to publish their radio features.
The website is also critical for fundraising. As a listener-supported station, the general manager Felix needs a reliable way to fundraise with affordable software that integrates directly with the website.
With Maple, Felix is able to manage the donations that are gathered on the website – even recurring donations – using an integration for WordPress sites call donorbox.
For years we tolerated a website that didn’t represent our vision, didn’t accept online donations and didn’t subscribe our fans to our newsletter. As a volunteer at the station, Ryan redesigned and launched our new website just before a $25,000 annual fundraiser. Not only does the website perform exceptionally well, but dozens of volunteers are empowered to use the site and help with station tasks thanks to his focus on user-friendly design.

No Fracked Gas Cayuga is a high stakes campaign to prevent my home region from building a power plant that burns fracked gas transported through our neighborhood via truck. This would make our city more dependent on fossil fuels and increase demand for gas from Pennsylvania where my friends are being impacted.
As a grassroots organization, they started quickly with no formal structure or budget, which is a barrier to these important campaigns being able to have professional websites. They needed their content to show up in search results and get support when they have questions.
After scheduling an initial discussion about the project, we decided they were a good fit for Maple's free or discounted services, so we got started with a rapid website build.
The first step was a one page brochure site to get things started. Then, once we had traction we invested our energy into putting together the website you see today at https://nofrackedgascayuga.org

Carla is a painter, educator, and well-known sculptor artist. Her website doesn't need a lot of bells and whistles, because it's really about showcasing her work.
Maple's Sapling website was the perfect starting point for her portfolio, and it's simple to update the galleries and let the work speak for itself.
Ironically, using a self-hosted WordPress site with Maple was simpler than tools like Weebly or Wix, who market themselves to artists. If Carla wanted to upgrade and add a blog, this website would be pre-equipped with the world's best platform.

Salsa Ithaca managed multiple events every week ranging from parties to multi-week dance classes and percussion workshops. Michael, the lead instructor and DJ, was spending hours each week composing emails and formatting blog posts, but nothing looked the way it needed to look. For him, the most important goal was serving the audience and staying focused on his craft, being a great organizer.
Salsa Ithaca needs advanced features like an events calendar, ticketing, and email automation, but this can get complicated.
Now, with a care plan, Michael can simply delegate the task of setting up a new ticketed event for an upcoming party.
