Zapier serves as the essential glue that connects our various systems, eliminating the manual data entry that can bog down operations teams.
I use Zapier to build custom integrations for clients who have more complex operations around managing data. For example, we have all the enrollments for Cornell Small Farms program coming through Zapier and entered into Airtable so that I can create a custom roster for every instructor. I typically start by mapping out a workflow in Miro, and then Zapier connects the different pieces together seamlessly.
Benefits
- Saves tons of time where we might otherwise be reconciling and syncing data together
- Sends alerts if anything gets interrupted with an integration so we can troubleshoot quickly
- Enables non-technical users to build complex automations across thousands of apps
- Reduces manual errors and increases efficiency in data management workflows
Limitations
- More complex integrations require careful workflow planning upfront
Zapier has become indispensable for keeping our client data flowing smoothly between systems, allowing us to focus on higher-value work instead of manual data management.
