Announcing Remote Work Essentials
This week has been a flurry of cancellations and tough choices.
As a library director, I’m busy writing a remote work plan for 15 employees, many of whom are trying to figure out what their life will be like now that Cornell has cancelled classes and shifted to online programs for the rest of the semester.
But on the other hand, a remote work plan is right up my alley.
I’ve been running Maple as a remote business with zoom meetings, shared notes, and remote project partners.
So would you like to learn some tips and tricks of remote work?
Do you know someone who would like to learn how to lead meetings or transition an organization to remote work?
This Saturday at 3pm EST I’m offering a free workshop, Remote Work Essentials : Tips & Tools for Online Organizing.
While this workshop is geared toward community groups and activists, everyone’s invited to learn best practices for remote work, and using Zoom video conferencing.
There will be a 30 minute presentation followed by discussion.
If there are more than 10 people we’ll do breakout groups (yes, I’ll show you how to do that too).
Here’s what you’ll learn.
- The top five tools I recommend and rely on for remote work
- How to do everything you need with a free Zoom account
- Best practices for remote meetings

After you register you’ll get a confirmation, and I’ll also be sure to share my list of tools for remote work with you.
Do me a favor?

I’m hoping that I can help ease the burden for people who may have found themselves in a frustrating remote work situation.
Wishing you well,
